Day 1

Today is the first day of my 21 day cleanse. I am following The Quantum Wellness Cleanse written by Kathy Freston. Let me start by telling you a bit about myself..

I am 24 years old, live in Chicago, work and go to school. I am a dance teacher and also work in the fitness industry as a receptionist. I am in school for medical assisting and just started my externship. I have a chihuahua mix named Bentley who is my best friend.

I have been vegetarian for almost 3 years. I don't really miss meat at all. I love researching the food industry through books, articles, and documentaries. Many of my coworkers are vegetarian/vegan/gluten free. I try to do juice cleanses every 3 months or so.

I am doing this cleanse because I have fallen off the wagon when it comes to what I put in my body. I love pizza, French fries, ice cream, and more pizza. All of this has left me feeling rather sluggish. I try my best to exercise daily but I know I also have to make dietary changes. I figure this will be a great jump start!

Day 1

Breakfast: Freshii green smoothies (kale, avocado, pineapple, banana)

Lunch:  Freshii Thai vegan wrap (bean sprouts, rice noodles, tofu and peanut sauce wrapped in lettuce)

Dinner: Vegan chili from whole foods

Snack: hummus with glutino sea salt crackers and a few almonds

 It was hard walking around Whole Foods and not buying cookies/pizza/ice cream and other things I'm used to getting. However I do feel pretty energized and am hoping to take a 7 am Bar Method class tomorrow!
